Australian Catholic Youth Festival (ACYF) is a national gathering of Catholic young people established by the Australian Bishops more than ten years ago. (Also the largest Catholic gathering in Australia!)

Run over three days, the Festival provides young people from all across Australia with the opportunity to come together to connect, deepen their relationship with Jesus, be empowered to live their faith in the world and experience the breadth of the Church in Australia. (WYD but Australia Edition!)

The Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne is excited to be hosting ACYF from 30 November – 2 December 2025 and is looking forward to welcoming thousands of young people to Melbourne.

Package 2 – Charisms Workshop (The Upper Room – Pre ACYF Event) Only
Dates: 28 November – 29 November 2025

Pilgrimage Highlights:

  • Upper Room will be a pre-ACYF Charisms-focused workshop run by Jesus Youth Australia
  • Focused on young people understanding the role of Charisms within our Catholic Church today
  • Through interactive sessions, adoration and prayer experiences we will be learning how to pray for, receive, and utilise our Charisms!
  • This workshop is open to all youth across Australia

Cost: VIC: $120, NSW: $100, ACT: $100, SA: $100, TAS: $100, QLD: $90, NT: $90, WA: $90.

The costs are made up of:

  1. Venue Hire for The Upper Room
  2. Food, Administration Fees etc.

Package 3 – ACYF Only

Dates: 30 November – 2 December 2025

Teens at ACYF 2025 with JY Australia

For the very first time, Jesus Youth Australia is opening up the Australian Catholic Youth Festival (ACYF) to teenagers aged 16 years and older. We believe ACYF is a life-changing encounter with Jesus, the Catholic Church, and thousands of young Catholics from across the nation, and we are excited to create a safe and meaningful way for teens to be part of it!

Who can attend?

  • Teens must be 16 years or older by the time of ACYF 2025
  • They must already be active in Jesus Youth Teens gatherings or part of a JY family
  • Registrations are invitation-only and coordinated through Regional Councils and Teams

Safeguarding and Care

  • The safety and wellbeing of every young person is our priority. Each group of teens will:
    • Travel and stay under the supervision of approved senior Jesus Youth volunteers
    • Be cared for by leaders who are trained in youth ministry and safeguarding responsibilities
    • Participate in programs in a way that ensures both safety and spiritual growth

Why should teens come?

  • ACYF offers teens the opportunity to:
    • Grow deeper in their faith and encounter Jesus personally
    • Experience the wider Church and be inspired by thousands of other young Catholics
    • Build Christ-centred friendships that last beyond the festival
    • Return home with new courage, joy, and purpose in living out their Catholic faith

How to register

Since places are limited, parents and teens should contact their local Regional Council for more information. Each region will provide details about group travel, accommodation, and costs.

Soooo, I've got Questions!

There are 2 options!

You are welcome to organise your own accommodation (hotel, Airbnb, etc.)

or

We can provide accomodation free of cost for pilgrims attending all three packages. Places are limited and given out on a first come, first served basis, so make sure you’ve completed your payment through your personalised link to secure a spot.

During the Charisms Workshop, all meals will be provided.

For ACYF:

  • Interstate and regional Victorian participants can receive up to 10 $20 meal vouchers,(this can be purchased through us) which can be used at official ACYF food vendors across the festival days.
  • Participants based in Melbourne will need to bring meals from home or purchase food independently during ACYF.

These arrangements are supported by the Archdiocese of Melbourne and aim to ensure access to affordable meals during the event.

All pilgrims will be responsible for arranging their own transport between accommodation and the respective venues (Upper Room and ACYF Venues)

  • Carpool with fellow pilgrims (Where possible, we will facilitate connections between pilgrims in similar areas to make travel more convenient.)
  • Public transport
  • Rideshare services (Uber, DiDi, Ola, etc.)

Not everyone can afford the full cost of attending ACYF and The Upper Room. By contributing to our Pilgrim Support Fund you can directly help cover registration fees and travel for young people eager to encounter Christ through this event. Your generosity ensures that no willing pilgrim is left behind.

ACYF is open to everyone, and we’d love for your friends to join the JY group experience.

The Charisms Workshop is a special formation event designed for young adults (18+) this means your friends are welcome to attend if they’re interested!

The last date to register is 1st October. We recommend registering early to secure your spot, especially for accommodation.

ACYF is a three-day Catholic youth festival with thousands of young people from across Australia.
